Boli, there are so many people predicting this at the moment which makes me take a contrarian view. At present I can't see a big rise in the markets unless oil declines. I'll be the first to admit things can turn very quickly either way. I have a short bias currently on S&P but am careful not to get burnt if the markets melt upwards again.

S&P has been going sideways for last couple of weeks. It's really touch and go now whether we go lower from here. My bias is still lower to 1280s this week then a bounce to 1303, followed by a further sell-off.

Spain downgraded last week now Greek debt downgraded and yet the Euro keeps rising. Very counter-intuitive indeed but fundamentals always win out in the end. Still short the Euro and will keep on adding all this week and beyond as long as we're at these high levels

Guys can I respectfully ask that we stop the bickering and gloating now. It's becoming tiresome. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that. The fundamentals of the Euro are a sell but the markets are manipulated and can be irrational for a long time. It takes balls to short the rises but I believe this to be the ideal way to play this game at these high levels in the Euro.

S90 my experience of guys like you is that you're all mouth. You only talk about winning trades and don't let slip that actually you make bigger losses in your losing trades. Catnip and I are talking more about economics and strategy and not so much about trading. We'll leave that for big mouths like you.

Neither the BoE nor the ECB can afford to raise rates. These mutterings of rate rises are just noise.
